An operational data store usually stores and processes data in real time. An ODS is connected to multiple data sources and pulls data into a central location.
ODS is a temportary data store from all sources for volatile data like resumes of interview, quotation from suppliers ,etc. which need not be stored permanently ( in OLTP )
